How to export a KakaoTalk chat on Android

KakaoTalk can export a chat room’s messages, either sent as text or saved to your phone. It all sits in the chat room’s settings.

   Open the chat room

   Open the chat room you want to save.

   Tap the menu

   Tap the menu icon (≡) in the top-right corner of the chat room.

   Tap the gear icon

   Tap the gear-shaped icon at the bottom.

   Tap “Export Messages”

   Select “Export Messages”.

   Text only or everything

   Choose “Send Text Only” to send the messages by email, or “Save All Messages to Internal Storage” to save them on your phone.

• Secret Chat rooms can’t be exported.
• To send the file to a computer or another phone, “Send Text Only” is the simplest: it goes out by email.
